Menopause is an inevitable part of any woman's life for those who live long enough.
Motherhood is a choice, Menopause is not. It is a natural phase of our lives that marks the end of our fertile years and this can bring a whole wave of emotions and experiences.
The rise in awareness of Menopause and its precursor ‘Perimenopause’ has been growing in recent times thanks to women with platforms around the world shouting it from the rooftops. God bless them I say! Women have long since suffered in silence and it is wonderful that we are now able to talk freely about the trials and tribulations we face, as well as speaking to healthcare professionals and gaining support for the associated symptoms that occur. It is inspiring to see support groups online and in local communities bringing together women from different backgrounds and giving a safe space, without judgement, to share and connect about this inevitable phase of our lives.
Wellness begins with ‘We’ after all.
But what else? What else can we do to support ourselves during this unchartered phase we are entering?
One that can see a lot of change from what we have come to know and understand about our roles within our relationships with our families and loved ones and even ourselves.
It has to start with YOU
During this transition it is important to look inward, to prioritise yourself, to nurture and care for YOU.
This can be achieved in a whole host of ways but one way can be to create a tranquil calming space that allows you to escape the stresses and strains of your everyday commitments, just for an hour or two, with me in my treatment room. A place that can allow you drift away, talk through your concerns with a cuppa or quietly reflect - All whilst receiving a bespoke treatment catered to your needs.
